The Company Men (2010) is a daunting reality of economic cataclysm.

Writer/Director John Wells tackled sensitive issues and responses to losing a job – drastic change in lifestyle, depression and hope. The consequence of career halt or detour can either build or destroy a person’s character. Bobby Walker (Ben Affleck) underwent through a stage of denial by continuing with his lifestyle of golf, posh car and beautiful house amidst household financial crisis. Gene McClary (Tommy Lee Jones) struggled with company politics, loyalty and friendships. Phil Woodward (Chris Cooper) fearfully battled the catastrophe by committing suicide.

The future of the three men is faced with various questions and overwhelming apprehension but there is always hope for an indomitable spirit. Humankind is capable of survival.
