Up (2009)

Up

The wilderness must be explored… The wildnerness in each one of us might not be the one we expect. It surprises us everytime we are confronted with uncontrollable situations. Thus, this wildnerness in us must be explored in order to be tamed. Discovering, acknowledging and chanelling the wildnerness in us to greater heights spice up our life’s adventure. Life then becomes incredibly worth living.

Up as an animated-adventure film exudes exemplary qualities that could silence critics and leave them touched and teary-eyed. Carl’s friendship with his one true love Ellie is an inspiring example for couples to keep the fire of friendship burning as it will sustain the relationship when sexual attraction fades. We create good memories in the most loving and simple things we do for each other. Memories to treasure for a lifetime. Carl’s friendship with the ambitious little boy Russell, exemplifies discovering and recognizing the best in each other. Carl’s discovery of his childhood hero’s (Charles Muntz) monster identity creates an image that hero’s are after all still human. Charles Muntz, who is a victim of his own success reminds us that success fades and that the leagacy worth leaving behind is still our goodness to all no matter what.
