The only thing we have to fear is fear itself… Sr. Aloysius’ paranoia of the future if Fr. Flynn is not extinguished as parish priest eventually led her to tell a lie. Her fear, self-righteousness, and awkward suspicion left her fighting to prove a thing she actually was not able to prove. Her remorse and admittance of her mistake was however her redemption.
In life, people may give us an impression of a person’s identity yet it is always important to remember that a flaw does not equate with the totality of a person’s being. And to create a malicious image of him based from what we only see and perceive can be the most catastrophic act of our lifetime.
