Just Go With It (2011)

Just Go With It

Just Go With It (2011) is a mediocre comedy trying to be romantic that is filled with naughty and toilet humor. It’s attempt to showcase a funny movie that values to appreciate the things and people they are blessed with is overshadowed by useless banter and mundane plot. A deluge of shabbiness.

What highlights (if there is one) this chick flick? It is of course not the very predictable happy ending of Danny (Adam Sandler) and Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) but the experience of joy when we realize that we are living in the moment. Indeed, a highlight of a lifetime. But who cares about morals when most are trying to momentarily escape reality or view faith as passe or separate from personhood? I do not intend to underestimate the contemplative nature of the viewers but I wonder how many would see beyond superficiality and fleeting contentment and to thus rethink of how their lives are lived and make a holy difference against all odds?

  1. ay, it’s always like that with adam sandler’s movies, filled with toilet humors and sexual themes, even if its intended to be a comedy film… nice review. i haven’t watched it though…
