Flyboys (2006)

Flyboys
Flyboys (2006) is a film about young men who enlisted themselves in a French air squadron – the Lafayette Escadrille for various reasons. Their intentions were coated with personal and vested interests that were purified through their wartime experiences that led them to their transformation.

The technical high of the film is its impressive aerial combats that made it truly realistic. It gives the audience a feel of how it is to be on an aerial fight in a fighter plane that is still on its early invention stage. Unfortunately, the film’s attempt to make an impression fails because of its weak storyline and its long unengaging script.

Wars may come in different forms in our life. It may be physical, mental, social, economical, psychological, or spiritual struggles. What is important is that we find meaning in every war that we are in. We may not win it with the way we want it to be but the passion to overcome the pains and sufferings it brings make us triumphant champions.
